So My 20 time has officially ended but i plan on continuing my research, but i am going to focus more on getting to know my ancestors not just getting names and general dates but knowing where they lived, when they lived, where they died, all their children, everything. Sorry, Dearies. Not much to report for this week, i have been gathering some old photos of my GG and her close family but i have not been getting farther than that. I dont really know why. I have also been working on my ted talk for my class i may post it here after i have presented(?) it to the class. I will have more next week.

So to make up for the lack of progress of last week i have worked really hard and wow i have gotten really far. Back to the 14th century in some places O.O .I am really excited to share it with you. But ya it has gotten to big for me to list out.
So to help me i asked my Grandma to help me find some more information that could get me farther. So i was able to find my great great great grandparents. After that i was able to find a duplicated person in the database. AND I FOUND ANOTHER PERSON WHO HAD THE THE SAME (MULTIPLE GREATS) GRANDMOTHER!!!!! That was many hours that I saved. I was so happy that I almost cried (really i almost did). So lesson for this week is that if you work hard enough things will eventually go your way and you will get a great pot of Gold (metaphorically).

I had a really hard time this week guys, I could hardy find anything on my great grandma and grandpa Franke and their parents. I am going to call my Great aunt later in the week to ask if she has anymore information that i can use. So i moved on to Camilla Kay Anderson to see if i could find her parents and i struck out on her too. This has just not been a good week for me, but i guess the moral is that you should always keep trying to move forward with whatever information you have and try and try until you get something. Diligence my friends will get you far with whatever you are doing.

So a little update to my small little following, I was looking at the stats for my blog (because I have nothing else to do DX ) and I noticed that we have a person from Poland looking at my blog. I was so happy that I had at least one person who was not apart of my class looking at this,

So that is all the photos is have for now.

Back to my progress well i have been able to track back a few generations and i found some siblings of my grandmothers that i never knew she had. That was a funny moment. It took me forever but i also found the names of my Great Great Grandparents, Julius Schwartz and Sarah Schwartz. It will be easier to find people now because it is easier to access Census records from the early 1900's and they tell you a lot of information. Like I know Julius was an accountant who worked for the public and he was also a WWI vet probably in his early to mid 20's when he was in, he was also born in New York but his parents were from Austria. All this is from one document. You will learn very quickly that Census are your best friend. So that's my progress this week. See you next week!



Hello My Dearies!
Here we are again. SO... I was able to find out some more things about my family this week talking with my Great Aunt Merilee (but I just call her Aunt Merr). She was a lot more helpful than my Aunt Heidi but I love all my family the same (maybe XD ). So I was able to learn a few more birth dates and Death dates in my family also a few more names, like my Biological grandmother's maiden name and the name of my Great Great Grandparents names Lesander Horton (LS for short) and Magdalena Horton. I dont know my Great Great Grandmothers maiden name, but i know is some weird German name. An interesting thing is that when my Great Grandmother was a little girl and times were rough food would be left on her door step and this was in the 30's and 40's. The only people would did this at the time was the Ku Klux Klan. It was this idea that they take care of their own. because of this some people thought that my Great Great Grandfather LS was KKK. Not quite anything so interesting on my Great Grandfather Wayne's side. but I don't now much about them either. I was unable to do any record looking this week so this is all i have but my Aunt Merr did tell me that someone in the family has the family Bible and she will look for it. So now the updated Tree

So my Dearies I has been another week so another update. I have more to write about this week. Yesterday I was able to talk with my genealogy geek of a grandmother and put down all the information that I had gathered from talking with my Aunt Heidi who gave me some information that she knew off the top of her head (which was not a lot XD ) but it was a start and was more than I knew. I was able to find a few documents like my Grandpa William's Birth Certificate, and a few census records that had my Great Grandparents. I also found their plot number, which I already knew in what cemetery they were and where in that cemetery but now I have it in writing for records and not to be lost in the recesses of my forgetful mind. I was not able to find my paternal grandmother Sheila in any record, though who I did not get a lot of information on in the first place. That will be on my list of things to ask about the next time I talk to a family member.
While I was talking to my Grandma Nina (the Genealogy Geek) she was all about dates, the more the better. Birth dates, death dates, marriage dates, divorce dates, And then she kept saying and where did all these things happen. The more information you have on them the better and the more sure that the information you get is correct. If your not careful then you could accidently find someone who is not who you are looking for so remember, Information! Information! Information!
