So my Dearies I has been another week so another update. I have more to write about this week. Yesterday I was able to talk with my genealogy geek of a grandmother and put down all the information that I had gathered from talking with my Aunt Heidi who gave me some information that she knew off the top of her head (which was not a lot XD ) but it was a start and was more than I knew. I was able to find a few documents like my Grandpa William's Birth Certificate, and a few census records that had my Great Grandparents. I also found their plot number, which I already knew in what cemetery they were and where in that cemetery but now I have it in writing for records and not to be lost in the recesses of my forgetful mind. I was not able to find my paternal grandmother Sheila in any record, though who I did not get a lot of information on in the first place. That will be on my list of things to ask about the next time I talk to a family member.
While I was talking to my Grandma Nina (the Genealogy Geek) she was all about dates, the more the better. Birth dates, death dates, marriage dates, divorce dates, And then she kept saying and where did all these things happen. The more information you have on them the better and the more sure that the information you get is correct. If your not careful then you could accidently find someone who is not who you are looking for so remember, Information! Information! Information!
So my updated pedigree is this

Another week, another Friday or a few days late, and more research, :D yay! Since I have no idea what I was doing, I decided to start with setting up and getting started.
Most websites told me to start with listing out the information I do know, like who my parents and grandparents are stuff like that, as far as I had a relative who could tell you. The next step was putting pen to paper and writing all the information that you have now on a family tree.
I have also started talking with my grandmother about this little project, and she was extremely ecstatic that one of her children or grandchildren has finally shown an interest in Genealogy which is her favorite hobby. We planned on every Friday we would get together on a video chat and she would help me with tricky parts or making sure i dot everything right, that's going to be fun. But that's all i have for now. See you next week :)

The Beginning!

My 20 time, you may have already guessed is Genealogy. Genealogy is the study of persons ancestors. We keep the information in the form of a 'Family Tree'. I have always be interested in my history, wondering whose blood runs through my veins. My grandmother is the person who kick started my interest. She has tracked my pedigree back hundred of years. It turns out I have the blood of Kings, Indian chiefs, and many other things in me that tell me where I come from. Since my grandmother has done all she could on my Mothers side i am going to build my Dads side. I think this is going to be a very interesting journey because you can never know who or what lies in your past till you find it. Well since this is my first post i have nothing more to write about then the hopes that I have, but wish me a happy hunting!
   Till next time.
